One part of your Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse journey are the numerous mentors/masters you can encounter during the story.
Each mentor/master will teach your character special abilities and moves that will help you on your adventure. Each mentor in Dragon Ball Z Xenoverse has four challenges with the completion of each challenge resulting in a new move.As you progress through the story and level up your character, more mentors will appear in the overworld map.
Each time the game loads, these mentors will appear in different spots so youll have to do some exploring to find the mentor you want.Krillin can be your mentor in DBZ Xenoverse iDigital Times/Phillip MartinezIts also fair to mention that you can only have ONE mentor at a time and you can switch mentors if you havent finished the entire training with your current master. Your progress will not be lost so you can alternate between mentors as you wish.It would be to your benefit to complete everyones mentorship for those 100 percent achievers out there. So lets dive in to the DBZ Xenoverse mentor guide and see how you can get the moves you want.
Friendship MeterWhen you take on a mentor, youll immediately gain access to the first challenge. Complete it and youll get the first move. Each mentor has four challenges with increasing difficulty but you wont get access to challenges two through four until the friendship meter is filled. If you press the START button and go to the PLAY DATA menu you can scroll to the left or right until you see a screen that looks like this:The friendship meters in DBZ Xenoverse iDigital Times/Phillip MartinezAs you can see, there are 12 mentors to find through your journey.
Next to the revealed master there are four circles that represent each challenge and a meter bar that will fill in green as you gain experience. Once the meter reaches one of the circles another challenge is unlocked. So how do you fill up the friendship meter? There are three ways you can fill up the meter quicker.Gain experience through the story mode or on parallel quests.
This is the most surefire way to gain access to the other challenges without having to do anything else.Use your mentor/master as your NPC partner during parallel quests.Performing moves learned by your mentor in battle will increase the friendship meter.NOTE: Completing all four challenges will let your character receive your mentors Z-Soul which will increase the damage output of that mentors specific moves.
Mentor and Challenge ListAs mentioned above, there are a total of 12 mentors to find and be trained by. Each will appear after completing certain parts of the story mode and reaching a specific level.Heres the complete list of mentors and challenges with the requirements to find them.

IntroductionDragon Ball Xenoverse is the 1st game of the Dragon Ball franchise to be released on the next gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox One.
It is also available on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Xenoverse has a 3D fighting game style similar to that of the Budokai Tenkaichi games and Raging Blast games and is the 3rd game to feature character creation, after Online and Ultimate Tenkaichi. In fact, the plot of Xenoverse seems to tie together with that of Online due to the concept of time travel and returning characters, Time Patrol Future Trunks, Kaioshin of Time, Towa, and Mira. Gameplay Control SettingsBelow are lists of the 3 different battle control settings for Xenoverse on the PS4, as well as on the PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
The PC's control settings are based on if you are using an Xbox 360 controller to play the game since you can assign any action to any key on your keyboard if you are using that.
